The Modern Equity Trader and Investor
While equity markets in the United States have existed for over 200 years, recent innovations have given rise to significant changes in a number of key aspects of equity investing. Hedge funds, high frequency trading and dark pools are now significant parts of the landscape for equity markets. Yet many traditional elements such as mutual funds, broker/dealers and fundamental valuation techniques remain integral to why and how stocks trade.
This one day course provides a complete and updated overview of the modern equity market and the equity-related securities traded within it. With numerous real-world examples, the program describes in detail how equity trading, products and markets have evolved in recent years. The class will also review valuation techniques used by both traditional investors and newer market participants such as hedge funds. Finally, participants will also learn how exchange traded funds have changed the approaches to equity portfolio management.
